How Football Helped Win WWII
"How Football Helped Win World War II" focuses on the little known story of the Navy's WWII aviator training program known as V-5 PreFlight, which used sports, and especially football, to train the next generation of flyers. The subject fits in best when scheduled to coincide with the college football season or is a great topic for Veteran's Day and/or Pearl Harbour Day events. The account, which is also told in A TIDE OF DREAMS, is an hour-long presentation and includes original photos and video footage from the Navy Archives. Here is a link to an online article which gives a general overview of topic.
